R. Aaron Eissens, DDS, PC specializes in providing high quality care to all patients, regardless of age. We perform all phases of general and cosmetic dentistry, as well as working with the top specialists in the area to provide the best dental treatment for you and your family. Whether you need a simple cleaning and check up, or something as complex as an entire dental rehabilitation, we would be thrilled to help you. Please take a look at just some of the services we provide.
At the dental office of R. Aaron Eissens, DDS, PC, we happily perform all types of dentistry. Whether you need just a simple cleaning and check up, or if you need something a bit more complex, we are here for you! Here is a small list of some of the procedures we can do for you:
Comprehensive Exam – At your first visit, we will take the time to get to know you and listen to any concerns you may have. A very thorough exam will be completed, so that any potential problems can be detected. If necessary, we will take any radiographs in order to give you a complete picture of your current dental health. We also have a digital intraoral camera and we can take close up pictures of your teeth!
Prophylaxis (cleaning) – If your teeth and gums are relatively healthy, and if it hasn’t been too long since your last visit, a “prophy” is done to clean and polish your teeth so that your smile can look its best!
Panoramic Radiograph – At your first visit (and usually every three to five years thereafter), we will take a panorex. This digital image will show us all of your teeth and supporting structures to confirm that everything is healthy. And because it is digital, the image is ready almost immediately!
Bitewing Radiographs – Although the panorex gives us a great overall view, it is not quite detailed enough to get a good view in between your teeth where cavities can develop, undetectable to the human eye. That’s where bitewing x-rays come in. They are detailed enough to determine if there are any problems where your teeth touch each other.
Scaling and Root Planing (deep cleaning) – If there is any sign of gum disease (periodontitis), a deep cleaning is necessary to treat this infection of the structures that hold your teeth in place. At our office, we take gum disease very seriously as it can have a detrimental effect on not just your teeth, but your overall health as well.
Composite Restorations – If you do have a cavity, don’t worry! If it’s small enough, it can usually be treated with the laser, and a shot might not be necessary. Even if the decay from a cavity has progressed, it can usually be treated with a composite filling, which is the same color as your tooth and is bonded in place.
Crowns (caps) – If your tooth is broken down, or decayed past the point of being treated with a filling, a crown may be necessary to restore your tooth back to its normal function. Crowns can be very esthetic and life-like, even difficult to distinguish from your natural teeth!
Bridges – If you are missing one tooth (or several) a bridge may be the best restorative option for you. It can be fabricated to replace your missing tooth and it stays permanently in place- there is no need to take it in and out of your mouth!
Dentures (full or partial) – If you are missing quite a few of your teeth (or all of them), dentures can be a great way to restore your smile and give you some teeth so that you can enjoy your favorite foods again.
Implant Restoration – Implants are a great way to replace missing teeth. Whether you are missing one tooth, several teeth, or all of your teeth, implants are an option for you! We work with several of the top implant surgeons in the area and use only the top implant systems.
Occlusal Splints (nightguards) – Do you grind or clench your teeth at night (or has your spouse told you that you do?) You may need a custom nightguard to protect your teeth at night, where most damage from grinding occurs. We also make splints to help with temporomandibular disorders (TMD).
School Exams – In Illinois, it is required that all children entering Kindergarten, second grade, and fifth grade to have a dental exam prior to entering school. We can help! We will even provide you with the necessary forms and documentation. Just ask!
Does your smile look its best? What’s holding you back from the beautiful smile you’ve always wanted? At our office, we take great pride in helping people achieve a great looking smile that lasts a lifetime. From simple tooth whitening to a full cosmetic makeover, we would be happy to discuss your options with you.
Tooth Whitening (Bleaching) – If you would like your teeth to be a few shades lighter, whitening may be all you need. We have several types of tooth whitening systems, from “take-home” kits to “in office” whitening. Imagine having your teeth several shades whiter in just an hour!
Bonding – To correct minor concerns, composite (tooth colored filling material) can be bonded to your tooth.
Porcelain Veneers/Crowns – Are you a fan of the “Extreme Makeover” shows? Many of those people have also had a “Smile Makeover” to achieve that great look. Veneers can correct color and spacing issues with your teeth and can be completed in as little as two visits! Check out some of the before and after photos from our “Smile Gallery” to see what a dramatic difference veneers can make!
If you are in pain, or have had a dental accident, we are there for you. We will do our best to see you as soon as possible- in most cases the same day that you call. Dr. Eissens can also be reached after hours via cell phone.
Bonding/Repair – Although it may not be an emergency from a pain aspect, if you have a tooth chip or break the night before an important event, it can certainly feel like one! In some cases, a chipped tooth or crown can be repaired with bonding to get your smile back looking its best.
Root Canal Therapy – If a tooth is hurting (or if the decay is too extensive) a root canal may be necessary to get you feeling better. Dr. Eissens performs most root canal therapy in his office so your tooth can be saved.
Extractions – In some cases, a tooth can be decayed or broken past the point of repair. In that instance, an extraction may be the necessary treatment. Dr. Eissens performs extractions in his office safely and comfortably.
We take great pride in staying up-to-date with the latest trends in dentistry. New technology means better, safer, more comfortable treatment for you! Here are a few examples of some of things you’ll find at our office.
Laser Dentistry – We have the most state-of-the-art laser available, the iPlus by Biolase. With this laser, cavities can be removed with little to no anesthetic! Imagine having a filling done without having a numb lip! We are one of the few offices in the area that offers this technology.
Digital Radiography – Digital x-rays produce a high quality image that is available almost instantaneously, producing an extremely high quality image. In addition, it reduces the amount of exposure to radiation by up to 90%!
Isolite System – Bonding composite restorations to your tooth requires a dry field to be successful. That’s where the Isolite comes in. This allows us to get a great bond to your tooth resulting in a restoration that is beautiful and long-lasting.
